Judging at the World Bread Awards

On Wednesday 26th September, our CEO Fiona Hamilton-Fairley, will be judging the finalists of the World Bread Awards 2018!

The competition is the UK's leading awards celebrating the art of bread making - open to professional and amateur bakers nationwide.

Fiona cannot wait to what incredible breads the bakers come up with this year! 

The competition will open again to entries February 2019 for all you bakers, bread makers and industry shakers.

Aine Casey, in association with the Media Trust and John Lyons Charity, has made a fantastic, interesting and captivating short film about what we do here at KCS.

We are a dedicated charity giving equal opportunity to all children, whatever their circumstances.

The Magic Fridge 

Patron and ambassador of The Kids' Cookery School, Alex Mackay, who is a dedicated cook, teacher, food lover and author has written a brand new book, The Magic Fridge. 

Culinary wizard Alex Mackay, who has taught at both Raymond Blanc and Delia Smith's cookery schools, revaleas how to create easy and delicious stocks, sauces, butters, broths and preserves that you can keep in your fridge or freezer, ready to be turned into lunch, tea, supper or dessert at a moments notice. 

All profits from signed copies of his new book go to The Kids' Cookery School charity.

This is a wonderful book, which would make a wonderful Christmas present for anyone who loves to cook!

Food Festivals 2017

The Kids’ Cookery School will be delivering free cookery sessions at food festivals and events in different cities across the country. Each day will see us delivering back to back sessions where children are taught how to make a recipe from absolute scratch they will be given the food they make to take home with them to share with friends and family alongside the recipe card to be able to take home and try again.

The dates for this are as follows:

-          RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show (London)

Saturday 8th July 2017

 Bookings for cookery sessions will be taken on the day at the festival!

Fiona Wins Halifax Giving Extra National Award 2015

 The Giving Extra Awards is a programme through which Halifax helps the Group deliver its Helping Britain Prosper Plan and its commitment to the banking Group that brings communities together to help them thrive. 

Fiona, who was selected for the national prize from 67 local winners, said: "I was shocked to win a local Halifax Giving Extra Award, so I am thrilled to have won the national prize.
