Fiona Wins Halifax Giving Extra National Award 2015

The Giving Extra Awards is a programme through which Halifax helps the Group deliver its Helping Britain Prosper Plan and its commitment to the banking Group that brings communities together to help them thrive.

Fiona, who was selected for the national prize from 67 local winners, said: "I was shocked to win a local Halifax Giving Extra Award, so I am thrilled to have won the national prize.

David Nicholson, director of Halifax Community Bank, said: "Through our Helping Britain Prosper Plan, we are committed to bringing communities closer together to help them thrive, and we are able to further deliver upon this commitment through people like Fiona. She plays a pivotal role within her community making such a positive impact on the lives of so many young people in her area. It was awe-inspiring to hear how all of the local Halifax Giving Extra Award winners across the country give extra to help others in their community but Fiona, and the work she does at the Kids' Cookery School, was truly inspirational and really impressed the judges”.
