The Kids' Cookery School's mission is to give every child in the UK a unique and fun cooking experience in order to help them make informed choices about food and an understanding around health and diet.

Started in 2000, the charity has worked with over 136,000 children, young people and families across London, many of whom may have severe physical and learning disabilities, behavioural problems or been excluded from mainstream education.

Update on The Covid-19 situations at KCS Summer 2021

In line with The Government guidelines and schools being able to re-open. KCS will be taking private bookings for children, to learn how to prepare and cook, healthy delicious dishes and recipes, during the long summer holiday 2021. The classes will consist of a maximum of 12 children in attendance.

The cost will be £35.00 per child for a 2-hour workshop. (assisted £18.00).

And £20.00 for a One hour and 15 Minutes class for the 3-5 year olds, (assisted rate £10.00)

There will be one assisted rate, per child, per family, available for the summer holiday. (evidence of Child Benefits may be asked for or requested)

All the dates are attached bellow so if you would like to book your child/children in, then Please call us 02089928882 (we do not accept bookings via email) to make a booking.

We do apologise that we can only deliver cookery sessions every Friday. This is because we have been commissioned to work with the HAF Projects, (holiday activities food programme) which focusses on helping children living in poverty.  therefore, we have a very limited amount of time left to teach our private sessions.

When booking your child into our classes or workshops, we will need you to fill out a short registration and waiver to ensure you are happy to send your child to KCS due to Covid-19.

We know that the Covid-19 pandemic has been a very difficult time for children and families and we hope that opening our doors, this summer will allow them to learn, this vital life skill and make delicious recipes from scratch for the family.

Children will cook a range of both, savoury and sweet dishes, entirely from scratch using fresh ingredients. All students will work independently to create their own recipes and at the end of the session their food will be packaged up and placed in a KCS bag, ready to take home and share.

We have also been busy making and posting some simple and easy cookery YouTube Videos. So please watch them and see if you can/would like to make them at home in your kitchen.

For enquires please email or call 0208 992 8882 to book a place. We do not take bookings via email.  If we don’t answer the phone please leave a voicemail with you name and number and we will get back to you ASAP.

Many thanks,

Team KCS

Our CEO/Founder Fiona Hamilton-Fairley, has been awarded an MBE!

Fiona founded KCS in 1995, when she began to teach children in her own home when she realised that her own children would not learn how to prepare and cook good fresh food from scratch at primary school.  Fiona is a passionate, chef, cookery teacher and food campaigner.  She believes that every individual needs to be able to prepare and cook fresh food for themselves in order to eat well and live a happy and healthy lifestyle.  Fiona lives by the motto ‘you are what you eat and drink’.

On the 7 June 2019, Fiona was awarded an MBE on the Queens’ Birthday Honours List, for Services to children with Special Needs and disabilities.
